Make Your Training Links Easy to Remember

Use Vanity URLs

When was the last time you thought about how hard or easy it is for your students to get to your services?

For many creative course creators and coaches, whether you are teaching, designing, or building communities, the path to your work (and revenues) often starts with a link. And let’s be honest, long, clunky URLs can slow people down or worst get them lost.

Here are a few key areas to review:

  • Online Courses: Platforms like Kajabi, Thinkific, or Teachable usually give you a default URL such as yourname.platform.com. Switching to something short and branded like learn.YourName.com makes it much easier for students to get back to your course.

  • Memberships and Communities: If you are hosting on Skool, Circle, or MightyNetworks, try setting up a vanity URL such as community.YourName.com. It looks professional, builds trust, and keeps your members from digging through emails to find you.

  • Digital Products (ebooks, templates, downloads): Selling through Shopify, WooCommerce, or Samcart? Replace those messy default product links with clean memorable ones like shop.YourName.com.   Or use a redirect from your pretty branded name to the platform link.

Keep your links short (2 to 5 simple and short words) and focused on your most accessed resources such as sign ups, portals, or resource hubs.  Also use simple everyday (high school) level words.  Avoid filler or connector words and use dashes for a tighter link.

Finally, do a quick link test or audit.  Pretend you’re a new student and start on a different browser without any of your main links cached.  Then literally type the user friendly url that you plan to use on your podcast, video, ad, etc., and go step by step.   Also use a test gmail or hotmail email outside of your company one, so that you can see if the transactions work or go to spam.

Keep growing scientifically!,
